The Made in the Midlands annual exhibition is one of the showpiece events in the Midlands’ industrial calendar and is a fitting showcase to highlight some of the great work being carried out by manufacturers across the region.

Hundreds of firms are exhibiting and thousands of delegates are expected to visit Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, which will open its doors to the exhibition on June 21.

The event is now in its ninth year and bigger than ever, with firms exhibiting representing the full manufacturing spectrum in the region, with sectors such as automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, medical and defence all represented.

Here is a brief summary of just some of the firms taking part in the event.

Walther Trowal manufactures standard and special machines for surface processing, these can be either modular or customised system solutions.

The company, which has its sales division in Birmingham, adjusts processes to suit specific needs by automating and linking its systems, whilst it also offers repair and maintenance services, as well as a test lab.

The firm has a global customer base, spread across almost every sector of industry. With more than 230 staff around the world, Walther Trowal is one of the leading providers of surface processing technology.

The company will be exhibiting on Stand 3 where it will be sharing more about its blasting technology, small parts coating and cutlery cleansing.

Exhibiting on Stand 134, Iconsys specialises in the design, manufacture and commissioning of integrated solutions incorporating multiple variable speed drives, servos, robotics, PLCs and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).

The Telford-based company arrives at the Ricoh Arena fresh from recognition from one of its customers, Tata Steel.

During a visit to Iconsys by directors and works engineers at Tata Steel’s Down Stream Operation (DSO), Neil Dolman from Tata’s Trostre site presented the firm with an award as a thank you for the professionalism and hard work of its Engineering Team following the upgrade of DSO’s ETL#5 Line.

Iconsys will be able to talk about this and much more when it exhibits in June 21.

Joining them will be fellow Telford member, Sprint Tool & Die

The company was a finalist in the 2017 Plastics Industry Awards where it was shortlisted for Toolmaker of the Year.

It will be exhibiting on Stand 280, where it will be highlighting its range of plastic injection moulds and die-cast tools.
