Made in the Midlands Gold members Baker & Finnemore (Bakfin) hosted the latest Breakfast Networking event on Thursday 14th April, at their premises on Newhall Street, Birmingham.
Bakfin now has almost 160 years of experience in the design and manufacture of precision pressings in ferrous and non-ferrous materials with particular emphasis on the spring quality type. They have achieved a worldwide reputation for being able to supply quality products for inclusion in many applications for a wide range of industries.
The success of the Starlock® has earned Bakfin its reputation as the UK's premier manufacturer of push-on fasteners. The Starlock® push on fastener range forms the lion's share of output, with 500 million Starlocks manufactured annually, destined for use in around 50 countries across every continent.
Over 25 attendees visited Bakfin to discover how they could potentially collaborate with the proprietary manufacturers of the world renowned Starlock® push on fastener and other bespoke pressings.
Bakfin Sales Director, Ian Styles said: We are very very happy, as a lot more people turned up than we thought would. We tried to accommodate what people might like, but weve realised that we can fit quite a lot of people in our room if we really try and we do have space around the factory. Weve suggested that we could do it next time as a morning and an afternoon session if we are struggling with overcapacity.
Bakfin showed exemplary hospitality by supplying attendees with a wide range of pastries and drinks. Additionally, Bakfins hosting skills allowed everybody to benefit from the networking purpose of the event, as Styles stated: Im glad that our presentation and general introduction was a fairly quick thing because it allowed people to carry on the conversations they were already having and I think that's where the most benefit comes from the day.
MIM Breakfast Networking events are the ideal facilitator for businesses to discuss ways to collaborate and this event was a brilliant example. Bakfin received a large amount of interest in their company after hosting the event, as Styles concluded: I feel the event was very successful, we have a lot more interest than we thought we would have and we ended the day with quite a few enquiries and quite a few conversations to follow up, so it was very successful.
Our next Breakfast Networking Event will take place at Petford Tools Ltd, Dudley on 21st April at their premises on Peartree Lane. Our Breakfast Networking events are hugely popular amongst MIM members, as signified by Petford Tools Ltd as we have already sold out the event to their full capacity.
