Made in the Midlands members are making their final preparations ahead of this year’s annual exhibition.

The big day is less than a week away so ahead of the exhibition’s opening on June 21, we profile more members and what they have planned for visitors to the Ricoh Arena.

Tube laser processor Kloeckner Metals UK will be eager to talk about the expansion of its capacity following the addition of its new Adige LT14 ‘Jumbo’ laser.

Completing the group’s already extensive laser cutting portfolio, the new equipment is the latest generation of these type of machines and includes many cutting-edge features.

Having the machine available means Kloeckner Metals UK is one of the few businesses in the country capable of processing parts up to 355mm in diameter and weight up to 100kg/m. In addition to processing Hollow section tubes, it can also process large beams, columns, split tees, angles and channels.

Operating in all major market sectors across the UK, Kloeckner Metals UK is a key member of the Klöckner & Co. group, one of the largest independent distributors of steel and metal products and steel service companies in the world.

The company’s commitment to innovation saw it recognised with the Manufacturing Innovation title at the most recent Made in Midlands Awards.

It came top in the category for achievements in Digital Transformation and implementation of a wide range of digital solutions across the business including a new online shop, the Kloeckner Connect platform, website upgrades, new SAP systems and paperless warehouses.

Graham Hudson, Digitalisation Manager, said: “Being recognised for our digitalisation efforts is a fantastic achievement and we are honoured. Improving our customer experience through digitalisation is at the heart of our business and as a company, we are continuously looking for ways to move towards more connected, smart and efficient supply chain within the metal industry.”

Staff from the company will be welcoming visitors to Stand 190.
