Made in the Midlands are thrilled to announce that Danielle Brown MBE will be the celebrity speaker at our prestigious Made in the Midlands awards which are set to be hosted on October 20th at IET: Austin Court, Birmingham.

Danielle is a double Paralympic gold medallist in archery, three time World Champion and was world number one for her entire career. She also achieved something that very few disabled athletes manage when she successfully transitioned onto the able-bodied team.

Danielle’s career is a brilliant example of determination, so she now motivates others to achieve their success, as she explained: “The real traits or characteristics for success are collaboration and the ability to keep adapting. Sport is an interesting way to look at it, as everyday you go out to training you look at that day trying to always do better than yesterday and I think that is a fantastic mentality. I think if we could teach other sectors how to do this then that would be really powerful.”

The Made in the Midlands award ceremony provides manufacturers with a fantastic opportunity to meet the region’s top manufacturing talent and celebrate local manufacturing success stories. Our awards reveal the companies that are currently achieving great success within the industry. This opens the door for a range of future networking and partnership opportunities.

Made in the Midlands CEO, Jason Pitt said: “We are thrilled that Danielle will be presenting to the overall winner of the Manufacturing Achievement Award. She is a fantastic example of a person who has never given up in the face of adversity. Her fantastic talent has established her name as an ambassador for Paralympic Archery and British sport as a whole.”

Throughout the year, manufacturers achieve or produce astonishing material and work on a daily basis that is vital to the local economy and supports the ‘Midlands engine’. The Made in the Midlands awards help to highlight the phenomenal work that is completed throughout the membership group.

Danielle concluded: “I moved to the West Midlands six years ago now, it has been a brilliant place to live, train and work. I’m really looking forward to celebrating the success of local Midlands manufacturers. It is really important for the local community to come together and celebrate this success.”
