We started out with 32 teams but we know now the inaugural winner of the #mimworldcup.
JCB scooped the title with a win over MG Motor in the final. They won by the narrowest of margins in our twitter based competition and in the end the result couldnt have been Klose...ahem!
The 32 teams were split into eight groups each containing four teams seeded as auto, regions, industrialists/heritage and food & drink.
Victory means JCB have been crowned the ultimate Midlands manufacturer but they had to overcome some pretty stiff competition. They came through a group of death that included the Black Country, Matthew Boulton and Bulmers Cider.
In the knock-out phases they saw off the titans at Cadbury, East End Foods and Aston Martin, so victory was no mean feat.
Matt Eccles who ran the tournament commented: Its been a great competition, almost as good as the real world cup and this was a well deserved win. Our hearty congratulations go to everyone at JCB and we look forward to seeing if they can hold onto their title in 2018.
