Made in the Midlands have teamed up with Sandwell Council to stage an Engineers Breakfast Club taking place on Thursday 10 October at SDandwell Council House in Oldbury.
The breakfast meeting is a "meet the buyer
special" with Made in the Midlands members Cab Automotive - a
tier-one manufacturer of automotive interior components, based in Sandwell.
The "meet the buyer session" is being organised in conjunction with
Sandwell Council's finditinsandwell team and manufacturing business network - Made in the Midlands.
Cab Automotive manufactures automotive interior components
(including executive car seating, interior trims, parcel shelves and dashboard
components) from its premises in Tipton, supplying to clients that include
Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, McLaren, Toyota and Bentley.
The company is a big employer in Sandwell and has enjoyed tremendous growth in
recent years. Its 2012 turnover was almost at £20m
Cab Automotive recently worked with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council's
Economic Development Services (EDS) team to access £1.6m-worth of Regional
Growth Fund money. This went towards new machinery for its production line and
the purchase of the lease on its factory.
At the free Breakfast Club, taking place from 6:45am in the chamber rooms of
Sandwell Council House in Oldbury, Cab Automotive's buyers will be interested
in meeting production and non-production suppliers - and in particular
manufacturers and suppliers of aluminum die castings, precision-machining
services, composites / injection mouldings, metal bending, metalwork, sheet
metal fabrications, pressings and stampings, tooling, jigs and fixtures,
turning, milling, and jig boring services.
If you could meet their needs, you're welcome to sign up for a five-minute
face-to-face meeting with one of Cab Automotive's buyers, which will take place
after the main presentations. Be sure to mention your interest in this when you
book your place.
And of course, as with every finditinsandwell event, there will be the chance
to network with dozens of like-minded professionals over a complimentary hot
breakfast bap. Sandwell's engineers breakfasts regularly attract over 200
businesses; it's a great feeling to have swapped business cards, gathered some
quality leads and even made new friends ... while the rest of the Black Country
is still snoozing!
After the event closes there will be a factory tour of Cab Automotive's
production facilities in Tipton. At around 9:30am a minibus will take interested
people from Sandwell Council House on the short trip down the A457 to see where
the Cab Automotive magic happens. If your business aspires to work with a major
supplier in the automotive sector, the tour will give you valuable insight into
the quality standards and delivery performance expected.
The event takes place on Thursday 10 October 2013 from 6:45am to around 9am in
the chamber rooms of Sandwell Council House (Freeth Street, Oldbury B69 3DE).
It's free to attend. You can park in the council car park - To book your place,
call Steve Massey on 07929 353232 or email [email protected].
Be sure to tell him if you'd like a one-to-one with Cab Automotive's buyers and
