Health and safety announcement for Made in the Midlands Exhibition visitors

By Made in the Midlands News
schedule23rd May 17

Made in the Midlands have introduced a number of additional security measures to make our biggest ever exhibition safe and secure.

This includes additional screening of non-member delegates via social media and calls.

We will be inspecting any large bags carried by visitors to the show and random ID checks for non-members.

Ricoh Arena are providing us with security personnel on the day and a point of contact, the building is also secured by CCTV with the monitored control room.

In addition: Customers MUST be in possession of a visitor pass for the event. Customers MUST NOT be under the influence of alcohol / drugs making them incapable or a risk to others. Refusals will be subject to the venue Drugs Policy & Procedures at all times. Customers MUST conduct themselves in a manner that does not cause fear, alarm or distress to others. Persons not conducting themselves in this way will be refused admission or ejected from the premises.

All MIM staff, will have a security briefing ahead of the show which will focus on additional responsibilities.

This will be the largest Made in the Midlands event, our move to the Ricoh Arena has helped to increase footfall and we are expecting 2,000 people on the day.

We would also ask for your help in spotting any potential risks, this includes reporting any suspicious items or behaviour listed below, to a member of the MIM team:

Weapons – Knives / Guns / Extendable baton etc. Laser Pointers / Lasers, Alcohol Drugs, Legal highs Nitrous Oxide, Drug Paraphernalia. Items likely to cause offence / distress to others. Any item deemed unsuitable by venue and event management are entirely at their discretion.

This is an important message that must not be overlooked, but let’s all just focus on having a great exhibition. There will a lot of old and new faces for you to meet and we want you to make the most out of it. I also believe the weather is fine for Thursday which should further increase attendance. We look forward to seeing you all at the exhibition.
