Delivering the opening address for the event will be the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street.
Mr Street, former managing director of the John Lewis Partnership and ex-chair of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, is arguably the most powerful politician in the region. He is a strong advocate of the advanced manufacturing sector and champions its ability as a wealth generator for the Midlands economy.
His first year in office has seen the region awarded the 2022 Commonwealth Games and Coventry, the 2021 UK City of Culture, while a new electric superprix through the streets of Birmingham could yet be a possibility.
At 11am, Johnty Mongan will be speaking about the essentials of the new GDPR regulations. Mr Mongan, an expert in the field, has been invited to speak by Made in the Midlands Patron, Arthur J Gallagher.
Arthur J Gallagher are specialists in insurance, risk management and consulting - advising firms across a wide range of industries including automotive, energy and aviation to name but a few.
This will be followed by a House of Lords update from MIM chairman Lord Whitby.
It has been a busy Parliamentary session, with Brexit dominating the agenda, but Lord Whitby has also been vocal on other matters, including the transport debate. In his talk, he will provide an update on these and other issues.
Lee Price, Group Sales Director of new MIM Patron, adi Group, will be speaking at 1pm on the industry skills gap. He will discuss the implications of the skills gap for UK industry and more specifically, on the actions adi is taking to future-proof its workforce and inspire the next generation of engineers.

With fresh turmoil in the Automotive sector - not least at his own firm - an update on the Automotive Supply Chain from Mike Mychajluk, Supply Chain Products & External Engagement Manager at Jaguar Land Rover is likely to attract significant interest.
The final presentation at 3pm is from Alan Norbury, Chief Technical Officer at Siemens, who will be speaking about the latest developments surrounding Industry 4.0 and how digitalisation is set to change the very foundations of the manufacturing sector.
His insightful talk will address the positive impact digitalisation continues to have on industry and how the practical benefits of this can be applied to business of any size.
Hundreds of firms from across the Midlands manufacturing community are exhibiting at this years expo, which takes place at Coventrys Ricoh Arena on June 21. The event has also attracted hundreds of buyers and industry stakeholders.
