Made in the Midlands members invited to contribute to the Industrial Strategy

The Government launched its Industrial Strategy last autumn in its support for growth.  As part of Made in the Midlands efforts for members to be included in these discussions, we are organising our own workshop and brainstorming event, which aims to ‘seed’ ideas to government, cross party and in the institutions that are likely to oversee funds to support the industrial strategy. 

Made in the Midlands is inviting members to participate in our Manifesto for Britain event which is being hosted at Birmingham City University , Curzon Building and special guests include non executive chairman Lord Mike Whitby and Barrenness Burt

  • The workshop has been scheduled for Monday, 8 May between 09:00am – 12:30pm

This workshop will offer you the opportunity to participate in an interactive and collaborative discussion on areas which you believe are inhibiting growth and to share thoughts on what steps the Government might take to improve the opportunities for manufacturers in the UK.

The Made in the Midlands workshop is be unique in its approach, we will be compiling an innovative brainstorming morning which aims to not only generate ideas for government but also community led solutions that can fit in with the industrial strategy but delivered by UK cohorts or a community minded people. As part of the workshop and brainstorming, we would like to discuss:

1. Investing in science, research and innovation

2. Developing skills

3. Upgrading infrastructure

4. Supporting businesses to start and grow

5. Improving procurement

6. Encouraging trade and inward investment policy

7. Delivering affordable energy and clean growth

8. Cultivating world-leading sectors

9. Driving growth across the whole country

10. Creating the right institutions to bring together sectors and places
