The diverse range of manufacturing capabilities available within the Midlands deserves major recognition - and that’s exactly what the Made in the Midlands annual exhibition offers.

When the doors open at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on June 21 it will reveal a stunning array of firms that are proud to reflect what this region is really capable off.

Talking of what will be on offer, here’s just a flavour of some of the firms that will be exhibiting.

CeraCon, which will be exhibiting on Stand 95, is a specialist foam sealing technology business, mainly focused on the automotive sector.

The company maintains that its single-component foam sealing technology produces the best performing robotic-based sealing process available.

With a UK base in Leamington Spa it is perhaps unsurprising its major customer is invariably Jaguar Land Rover.

The company is also one that recognises the intricacies of the supply chain and that even a product as dynamic as a new Jaguar or Land Rover is only as good as the sum of its parts.

While many of the JLR contracts drop the vehicle name in favour of a production code, the contribution made by all suppliers is important.

CeraCon’s ethos is that while it’s easy to overlook the small black plastic component it produces, it remains part of something much bigger.

Its Contract Gasket business in Leamington Spa is growing dramatically. New investment in capital equipment saw the company increase its capacity by 30% during 2016.

Elsewhere, Frost Electroplating is the UK’s largest independent supplier of high-quality barrel, rack and reel-to-reel strip plating to customers in the UK and around the world.

The Kings Norton company has a wide range of capabilities which allow it to cope with almost any combination of size, production volume and specification.

By building on its position in traditional markets, the firm has innovated and invested in developing high-performance coatings and processes for new industries, technologies and customers.

It will be explaining more about its products and services, including Its range of electroless nickel coatings, which meet a wide range of technical needs for specific hardness, corrosion resistance and low-friction requirements. They also make it possible to plate non-metallic substrates such as glass and ceramics.

The company, exhibiting on Stand 239, has also recently commissioned a new facility dedicated to the needs of the aerospace and defence sectors, with a wide range of sulphuric and hard anodized treatments.
