Made in the Midlands upcoming Breakfast morning event will be taking place on 18th August from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Antsy Park, Coventry, Warwickshire.
The initial vision for the MTC was to become a world-class global research facility: making the future through transformational manufacturing technology development. This project has required significant commitment from industry, excellent facilities, access to state-of-the-art equipment, machinery and technology and, most importantly, high calibre people committed to improving the competitiveness of UK manufacturing.
Made in the Midlands CEO, Jason Pitt said: We are looking forward to introducing our members to a world class manufacturing facility in the form of the MTC. This event will open everybodys eyes to the continual creation, development and commitment to the future of manufacturing from educational institutions. The MTC are playing a vital role in encouraging young people to take up a career within the manufacturing industry and it is fantastic that they will host our next event.
The MTC now employs more than 400 staff, have over 85 industrial members and operate in sectors as diverse as automotive, aerospace, rail, informatics, food & drink, construction/ civil engineering, electronics, oil & gas and defence.
From encouraging young people into careers in engineering, to developing the technologies that will impact industry for years to come, the MTCs focus is to deliver integrated manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions.
Additionally, Made in the Midlands events manager, Iwona Sobolewska stated: This event will provide our members with a fantastic insight into the MTCs world class facilities. The MTCs Business Development Manager, Bhaskar Thota also delivered the fantastic news that they have a capacity for 100 of our members. This has the potential to be one of our best events yet!
