Made in the Midlands member RSD Pressings was established by the current owners and management of the business in January 2016 following the build and occupation of a brand new purpose built manufacturing facility. The name RSD Pressings represents the current ownership and management of the business since 1985 when the business was acquired under the name C & H Howe Limited.

The company’s most recent Exhibition experience was at the 2017 Made in the Midlands exhibition - the first since it was moved to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, a move that attracted over 2,000 delegates.

Daniel Burton, Operations Director RSD Pressings explains: “Since joining Made In The Midlands in early 2016 as gold members we have participated in 3 exhibitions. Whilst these days can be very busy and chaotic we have always found the organisation to be very good both leading up to and on the day. We feel the move to the Ricoh Arena last year was a big step forward and provides an ideal platform for the event to grow further, particularly given its position within the country, as it is likely to attract more footfall than just Midland based companies. Furthermore the layout of the 2017 event provided an ideal space in which to network with other members and I believe the 2018 will be set-up to facilitate this further both during and after.

“Aside from the fantastic networking opportunities coordinated by MIM, one of the main reasons we joined was to raise the profile of the company and hopefully grow our customer portfolio in the process. The exhibitions provide an ideal platform for this to take place given the exposure they bring and we have been luckily enough to attract two new substantial customers to our business from the exhibitions alone. There is obviously a lot more behind the scenes that gives new customers the confidence to place work with us but certainly the MIM exhibitions provide an ideal stepping stone to enable that first contact which hopefully leads to more”.

In addition to those wishing to raise their own profile, importantly the Made in the Midlands Exhibition attracts exhibitors looking at the event from a local sourcing and procurement perspective and an opportunity to demonstrate visible commitment to the region. Demonstrating this, at the 2017 MIM Exhibition, Gestamp UK Group Commercial Director Macartan Flanagan noted: “We’re a local company employing just over 1,200 people in this region, we are here to support the Midlands and our commitment to the UK”.

This year's exhibition is being held on Thursday 21st June at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. It is the biggest Made in the Midlands show ever with close to 300 manufacturers exhibiting and an expected 3000 visitors on the day and will be a fantastic showcase of industry in the region.
