Following the launch of our MIM TV series: ‘Meet Britain’s Makers’ last year, we are aiming to make this our greatest year for producing high quality manufacturing video content.

Made in the Midlands Managing Director, Jason Pitt said: “We want to establish MIM TV as a great feature of everybody’s membership. Our series provides MD’s and CEO’s of local manufacturing companies a brilliant platform to discuss their company, industry and the future.”

This year, we have already filmed content with the Managing Director of Malthouse Engineering, Roy Taylor who discussed the history of their business, the 42 different industries they supply into and the enthusiasm required to grow a business consistently for 30 years. Malthouse are renowned for providing the best possible steel profiling service in the UK.

Additionally, we interviewed the Chief Executive of the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Clive Hickman. The MTC represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and, after four years of planning and a 16 month build, the 12000 m2 facility opened at Ansty Park in Coventry at the end of 2011. The MTC provide collaborative partnerships that take the ideas coming out of academia and develop them into a commercial reality within industry.

We have future interviews scheduled with Cube Precision Engineering, Amco Services, MHA MacIntyre Hudson and Micro-Mesh Engineering. At the end of this week, we will conduct interviews with the MD of Petford Group, Melvin Sinar, Sales and Marketing for Cooper and Jackson, John Cooper and the Business Development Manager of MIE Solutions, Tom Trow-Poole.

It should be a fantastic week of filming, as we will discuss Petford Group’s £1.5m investment into their new premises in Lye. We will also provide coverage of Petford’s history, growth and the future. We will ask Cooper and Jackson about being featured on the BDO’s report listing them as one of the fastest growing companies in the Black Country. Also, MIE Solutions will talk about making their largest ever sale to date and their expansion plans to capitalize on year by year growth.

All of the members featured this week aim to explore the hot topic of apprenticeships. Petford Group currently have 10 apprentices on site and will cover the fantastic local work they do with colleges and apprentices. Cooper and Jackson also want to celebrate their quality apprentice completing her apprenticeship and aiming for a distinction.

We have produced over 20 videos dedicated to providing members with a showcase of their companies. The videos enable potential customers, clients and friends to discover more about the businesses featured in the interviews. We have created an extensive portfolio of the videos at: www.madeinthemidlands.tv and you can watch all of the videos at our YouTube channel here: www.youtube.com/user/TheMadeinthemidlands
