Made in the Midlands members will be flying the flag for Walsall when they participate in this year’s MIM Expo on Thurdsay (June 21).

Metal Processes and Chemique Adhesives will be among the hundreds of firms exhibiting at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.

In addition, hundreds of visitors are expected to attend the event and to make sure you don’t miss out on what they will be seeing, register for your ticket here.

Laser cutting and metals specialist Metal Processes will be telling visitors to the show of its plans for the future following a recent management buy-out.

Based on Willenhall Lane Industrial Estate in Bloxwich, Metal Processes was launched in 1994 and John Hayward had been at the helm for most of the years since then.

Over the years the company, which is a founder member of both Made in the Midlands and the Association of Industrial Laser Users(AILU), has benefited from continued investment, adding services to its laser cutting operation such as identification etching, form bending, tapping, countersinking, stud and nut inserting. This has proved successful in helping the company to expand its customer base.

The latest addition to its machine capabilities is a Haas mini-mill milling machine.

When Mr Hayward decided to step down from the business, the firm opted for continuity so its existing management team could continue to focus on the firm’s growth strategy.

Mr Hayward said: “Knowing how strong the management team are, they would not only continue to manage the business but leave the business through a post-Brexit world for it to continue being the success that it is now.”

The management team is led by Trevor Rankin, who becomes the new MD, supported by Garry Hayward-Bird.

Mr Rankin said: “Having worked in other businesses before, when I then started at Metal Processes I instantly knew this would be my home for the rest of my business career and as such I want to help continue and foster the culture of putting the customer first which has helped make Metal Processes what it is today.”

The company will be exhibiting on Stand 68.

Walsall-based Chemique Adhesives will be showcasing its extensive range of adhesives and support services at this year’s event.

Visitors to the Ricoh Arena on Thursday will be able to see the latest developments in adhesive technology and discuss their own requirements by visiting the company on Stand 121.

The company will be showcasing Chemique’s product brands and specialist bonding solutions, which are used in a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, commercial manufacturing, composites, construction, foam, furniture, marine and transportation.

Chemique Adhesives will also be promoting its Total Service Package, which builds on the company’s commitment of providing outstanding service for tailor-made adhesive and sealant products as well as full engineering, technical support and training.

The Total Service Package ensures that customers get the right adhesive and equipment for their specific application, as well as being provided with the guidance and knowledge to utilise this in the most efficient and cost effective way possible.

Chemique Adhesives is a founding member of Made in the Midlands.
