On Thursday 10th March, O.L.D. Engineering hosted the first Made in the Midlands Breakfast event of the year in the East Midlands region. The event saw over 30 attendees visit their 50,000 square foot premises in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
The event included a 60-second mini-presentation from all attendees to introduce their company capabilities and guests were treated to a selection of food and drinks. O.L.D.s hospitality was greatly appreciated by Timsons Engineering via Twitter: Thanks to O.L.D. Engineering for hosting @madeinthemids networking event today. We enjoyed the factory tour and the bacon rolls #engineering.
O.L.D. are an award-winning provider of CNC precision-machined parts. Established in 1971, they have more than 40 years experience of precision engineering, specialising in the manufacturing of diesel engine components.
Managing Director of O.L.D, Mary Topp delivered a presentation which discussed the history of O.L.D. and how she took over the company. O.L.D. was established in 1971 by Bill Lusty and his two partners, Barry Olner and John Drackley. When Bill Lusty retired in 1996, the control of O.L.D. was passed onto his family, with his daughter, Mary, becoming Managing Director in 2007. Through this family connection, O.L.D. benefits from a long-term vision and assured reinvestment.
O.L.D.s expertise cover a number of industries which they serve via a combination of automated and manual machinery to ensure that customers benefit from the most cost-effective and quality-assured methods of precision engineering.
Mary expressed her delight at the number of attendees and the overall success of the event, as she said: I think it's gone very well, I was a little bit nervous about how everything was going to turn out. But I think it's gone really well, everybody has said how pleased they were and how much they liked the facilities.
Furthermore, Mary described the beneficial surroundings that MIM Breakfast Mornings can provide attendees. Mary said: Quite a few people have felt that the Breakfast Mornings have been really good. They do break the ice and theyve found that it is better coming to something like this. Because of the title Made in the Midlands you know that it is for manufacturers.
